S. Reid Warren
Biography
S. Reid Warren earned his bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He lectured and published in the field of X-ray technology and radiographic apparatus, as well as engineering education, in the latter with a particular emphasis on the role of the humanities in engineering.
Dr. Warren also played an active role in Eta Kappa Nu, serving on the national advisory board and in 1955-56 as president. He was elected to eminent membership in 1984.
He was a consulting radiologic physicist to several hospitals and radiologists, the U.S. Veterans Administration and the U.S. Public Health Service.
Dr. Warren was active in IEEE educational and technical activities and was elected a fellow of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers in 1953. He also served on numerous working groups of the International Electrotechnical Commission and took part in activities of the Engineers Council for Professional Development, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Engineers Joint Council and the Franklin Institute.
Warren died on January 13th, 1996.
