Biography

Roger E. Avery was born on November 14th, 1912. During World War II, Mr. Avery was a technical observer and scientific consultant to the U.s. Army and Navy. He helped set up operations for locating and jamming enemy radar in Europe.

Later, as president of Avery Laboratories, he was instrumental in developing the heart pacemaker and other biomedical devices. Mr. Avery also wrote several articles on biomedical devices for pain management.

Avery died on October 31st, 2001.
