Biography

James D. Wallace was born in 1904 in Gloster, MS and received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Mississippi. In 1926 he was appointed a junior physicist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratories in Washington, D.C., where he spent his entire professional career until his retirement in 1970. He retired as a supervisory electronic engineer.

Much of Mr. Wallace's career was concerned with the development of devices and techniques to measure electrical characteristics of circuits at radio frequencies. Despite wartime security provisions delaying for many years the release of his work to the public, Mr. Wallace holds 10 patents.

Wallace died on March 20th, 2000.
