Biography

Charles A. Meyer was born in New York City, USA on December 5th, 1914. Mr. Meyer studied English at the University of Chicago, USA, and Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. He served as a radar and communications officer in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Later, Mr. Meyer worked for RCA as a technical editor.

He founded and later chaired the first IEEE professional group for engineering writing and speeches. He also was a consulting editor for RCA Engineer and was on the editorial advisory board of RCA Review.

Meyer died on October 14th, 2001.
