Biography

Robert Austin Bell was born on May 13th, 1933 and received his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. USA. He taught at Texas A&M University at College Station and the University of Texas, Arlington. In 1970, he joined the Consolidated Edison Co. of New York. Inc. He later retired from Con Ed as vice president of Research and Development.

Dr. Bell was on the IEEE Spectrum Editorial Board and received its Region 1 award. In 1984 he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the IEEE Power Engineering Society.

Bell died on October 7th, 2001.
