The Original Steelmakers, is a short retrospective work detailing the lives of Henry Bessemer, Robert Mushet, Alexander Holley, William Kelly, Andrew Carnegie, Alfred Krupp, and Wilhelm Siemens, as well as chronicling their influential and lasting contributions to the development of tonnage steel making. The work also provides an overview of the iron industry of the mid nineteenth century and concludes with the author's exhortation for modern steelmakers to continue the innovative work of the original steelmakers.
